Lions Advance to 3-3 With Two Wins
The team defeated rivals NYU and Yale in two close wins.
The first came Thursday night under the lights at Baker Field, with the Lions taking an 8-6 decision in a contest that was as close as the score indicated. On Saturday the Lions traveled to New Haven where they overcame a 2-1 halftime deficit to claim a 5-3 victory over Yale.
Freshman attackman Matt Leone led the Lions with a hat trick in the second victory, scoring the winning goal with 5 minutes to play. Mike Leone put the Lions ahead 3-2 early in the second half and Isaac Pope scored as time expired to provide the final margin of victory. The team returns to action for Alumni Homecoming this Friday, April 5 at 7:30 PM against Monmouth.
